Lisa Martin, 49, from Georgia, USA, experienced the miracle of life against the coronavirus after 40 days in a coma.
Miracle: A mother of four with coronavirus woke up the day before her ventilator was taken out |
Martin, who was discharged on December 31, 2020, was described by doctors and nurses as a miracle patient as no one expected her to succeed in her battle with the coronavirus.
The 49-year-old mother of four was admitted to Memorial Satilla Health Hospital in September with complications from the coronavirus.
Her battle lasted a total of 59 days, according to a post on the hospital's Facebook account.
Of these 59 days, 40 were spent in an artificial coma in the ICU as, among other things, he suffered a stroke.
On October 20, Lisa was in a complete coma and then the doctors called her relatives to say their last goodbyes.
The relatives of the 49-year-old, in consultation with the doctors, decided to give her another 11 days before they decided to take her out of the ventilator that kept her alive.
"But God had other plans. "On the 11th day, Lisa woke up from the sedatives and started waving her eyes and waving her hand," the hospital post reads.
"I can not believe everything that happened to me," the teacher told People.com.
"I'm shocked, I think it was a divine gift that I lived. "This experience showed me how much they love me," the 49-year-old added excitedly after her discharge.
