TRAI New Rules Cable DTH

New guidelines form TRAI manages the channel pricing and subscription packs from the coming February1. All these new rules will affect our cable TV and DTH subscriptions and make more affordable them. You have to pay for that only that you want to watch on your cable TV. This change will make cable TV and DTH subscriptions more affordable for subscribers.

The framework includes Quality of Service & Consumer Protection Regulations 2017 Interconnection Regulations 2017, and Tariff Order 2017, this had to come into effect practically from the end of 2018. But due to some reasons, it is extended to the end of January. This delay of one month is for the smoother implementation of new tariff plans.

In the new system, you are free to choose your desired channel to watch on your cable TV or DTH. Means if you want to watch only a single channel then you have to pay for that only. In fact, there are plans for the specific type of channels that belongs to a single company like Sony, Zee network, Star Network etc.

You can also choose bouquets(combination of some channels for a definite price) for your Cable TV or DTH services. Finally, cable TV providers and DTH companies are mandated to announce these prices for the subscription. This will really give complete freedom to a subscriber to pick only those channels and bouquets in which he is interested.
