On the morning of January 1, Russian gas was officially launched into the Serbian gas transmission system through Bulgaria from the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. The event was attended by Russian Ambassador Alexander Botan-Kharchenko and Director of the state company Srbiyagaz Dusan Bayatovich.

“This is of great importance for Serbia, thank you for the work done,” Vucic said after inspecting the gas distribution hub in the village of Gospodzhyntsi in the north of the country and listening to staff reports on the readiness to start gas.

After that, the gas went into the system.

The Turkish Stream runs along the bottom of the Black Sea from the Krasnodar Territory to Turkey, and then to the countries of Southern and Southeastern Europe. Its main branch was opened by the presidents of the Russian Federation and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in January 2020.
