All five judges in the bench are:

  1. CJI Ranjan Gogoi
  2. Justices Ashok Bhushan
  3. Abdul Nazeer
  4. SA Bobde
  5. DY Chandrachud

This hearing is not the first, and it is replanned after suspension of hearing on January 27. The previous hearing was postponed because of the non-availability of Justice S A Bobde. Which is one of the five judges on the constitution bench before.

This hearing of constitution bench will hear the appeals against previous 2010 Allahabad High Court judgment. The Previous judgement said that the 2.77-acre land in Ayodhya be partitioned equally among these three:

  • Sunni Waqf Board
  • The Nirmohi Akhara
  • Ram Lalla.

On September 27, the Supreme Court settled the inquiry by dismissing the dispute by a 2-1 lion's share and would not allude the issue to a Constitution Bench. With CJI Dipak Misra's retirement, another seat needed to hear the land question case.

On October 29, a seat driven by ebb and flow CJI Ranjan Gogoi settled the case for the primary seven day stretch of January before the "fitting seat".

A deferral in settling the Ayodhya debate has prompted requests for a law, or official request for the early development of a grand Ram sanctuary on the questioned site.

In a meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed that any choice on such a law could be taken simply after the consummation of the legal procedure.
